{Color Inspiration} A Plum Palette

2 Nov

Today’s perfect pallet is plum. A tasteful color choice for any season, plum, purple, orchid or mulberry tones are complemented by many colors. Rich jewel tones look great in pictures and are worn well by most complexions!

The complementary color of purple is yellow (remember your color wheel from art class?). If the yellow/purple combination is a little too punchy for you, don’t fret! There are tons of other beautiful combinations with purple, including gray, black, green or gold tones. Whatever your choice for a pairing, plum is a rich tone that is sure to add elegance to any wedding. Continue reading

{Real Wedding} B + A

25 Oct

Following up on the sneak peek from Sunday, here are some more pictures from Saturday’s wedding. It was a gorgeous fall day, the bride had a beatiful beaded gown with an equally stunning high-collar bolero. Colors of celery green and deep red were a perfect palette for a fall wedding. The Favor Dilemma

17 Oct

If you’re in the middle of planning your wedding, you’ve probably given a little thought to favors…”Will we do favors? Will we skip them? Is it just a silly tradition, a waste of money”, yadda yadda yadda. Especially for larger weddings, favors can seem like an insurmountable task – finding a way to thank each guest with something that they’ll appreciate and that won’t break your budget.

There are some great options for favors that won’t drive you crazy or put you over budget. If you forgo the traditional favor for each guest, a nice option is to give the money that you would have spent to a charity. A sign on each table can state this and encourage guests to give to the charity that is close to your heart, too.

Double Time

Favors can serve double-duty with escort cards. This is a creative way to kill two birds with one stone – making your life easier! These small succulents in clear jars are adorable.

And, this gumball and pencil jar combination is a super easy (and inexpensive) way to add a fun edge to the reception. Snag these at back-to-school sales in the late summer.

Something heart-felt is always the best, whether it’s more or less money doesn’t really matter to guests. It’s an expression of who you are and a thank you to everyone who comes to celebrate with you.

Color of the Week: Orange

8 Oct

One of my all-time favorite colors is ORANGE. A little pop of orange goes a long way. Not only is it bright and bold, it pairs perfectly with neutrals like gray and tan. I love orange so much that it was a huge part of my own wedding – we incorporated grey, orange, and coral.

This bouquet and stationary suite showcase how lovely orange can be, when it’s done right.
